The Nurture Group recently took part in an online maths competition on the Sumdog website. The competition was open to all schools across Derby in both the public and private sector and students answered up to a 1000 questions each, over a week. Due to their dedication and hard work, Derby Moor won the competition.
We are delighted that we have raised £264.67 for the Poppy Appeal to enable the Royal British Legion to continue their vital welfare and benevolent work. A big thank you to the Sixth Form students who helped sell poppies at Asda and at school.
Derby Moor is delighted to be recognised as a Stand Out school in the Get Set for Community Action Campaign. The school received £1000 for the contribution they made to the project by volunteering within the community and guiding other schools to do the same.
Derby Moor joined with thousands of other schools up and down the country in the world's largest Children's Christmas Project.
The students filled shoeboxes with toys, toiletries, stationary and other gifts, to make Christmas Day brighter for underprivileged children around the world.
On Tuesday, students from the Nurture Group and Inclusion planted 1,500 Purple Crocuses to commemorate all those Rotarians and their friends who, by immunising children against Polio, have nearly eradicated Polio from the World.
