A Level success at Derby Moor
Commenting on today’s A level results, Derby Moor Principal Graeme Smith said
“We are delighted with the success of our students in their A Level results, especially in the subjects of English, physics, sociology, psychology, business studies, history and maths where we have seen significant improvement since last year. In addition, vocational subjects at Derby Moor continue to see performance well above the national average, and Health and Social Care outcomes are excellent. We are also pleased that this year has seen our students achieve the highest ever proportion of A and A* grades. This trend is continuing at AS level where the number of A grades is our best ever. In Geography and Panjabi, every student has achieved an A or B grade.
“All students who were planning to go to University have been successful, and we are thrilled to be able to support them into the next stage of their education.
“We are grateful to all of our staff, parents and students for the hard work that they have put in over the last two years. Our results are testament to the effectiveness of our curriculum, which ensures students are placed on the appropriate pathway to achieve their optimum success.”
Particular student successes include Jeevan Johal with grades of A*A*AB, who will be studying maths at university. Saraj Bolla achieved A*AA and he will studying Psychology. On the vocational side, Liba Ansari and Aila Dad should both be congratulated on achieving Triple Distinction* grades, and they will now be at Derby University studying Counselling and Psychotherapy, and Mental Health Nursing respectively. Our students aren’t just heading to University, and we are really proud of Téa Simpson who is going to Mercedes to complete an Apprenticeship.
