Employability Master Class
On Friday 8 December, the whole of our Year 11 were involved in a day entitled ‘Employability Master Class’. The students took part in a series of workshops focusing on some key employability skills. They received top tips for writing a compelling CV and covering letter before rehearsing interview techniques and learning about different assessment techniques used to recruit.
The day was led by the charity Young Enterprise who help young people develop the employability skills that employers demand, by delivering programmes in schools, colleges and universities. A team of local employers mentored the students during the day and shared their own experience as recruiters and job hunters. At the end of the day Young Enterprise said ‘Everyone I spoke to felt it was a good day on Friday and the students were really positive’
Students were also issued with a booklet to complete throughout the day that they were able to take away and use for future reference.
